Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. It is surrounded by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the Southwest, Zambia to the Northwest, and Mozambique to the east and north. The Zambezi river forms the natural boundary with Zambia and when in full flood, the massive Victoria Falls on the river forms the world's largest curtain of falling water.

Language

Zimbabwe has 16 official languages. However, English, Shona and Ndebele are the most widely spoken languages in the country.

Christianity is the most dominant faith in Zimbabwe. About 60% to 70% of the total population belong to various Christian denominations, with the largest being Protestant Christians. Among the people, several traditional religious beliefs are also practiced.

MThe main staple of Zimbabwean cuisine is maize/corn and is used in a variety of dishes. Food in Zimbabwe has remained traditionally African for the most part, however British colonization certainly left its mark. Common British spices, breads, sugar and tea have become part of daily life in Zimbabwe. Despite its traditional roots, eating out in Zimbabwe is popular and local and international cuisines are available.
